Began to work on the clinical and research work of AD and cognitive disorders from 1992. Studied psychometric tests in Chinese University of Hong Kong in 1997. In 1998, he began to preside over the memory clinic of Huashan Hospital. He is expert in the management of geriatric memory disorders, dementia, sleep disorders, and cerebrovascular diseases. He summarized the clinical application of neuropsychological scales of cognition and emotion, and created several sets of neuropsychological tests validated in Chinese population. He summarized and reported some rare types of dementia syndromes in Chinese population, and reported them in international journals.

He was invited to write American Experts Recommendations on Vascular Cognitive Impairment. Work as principle investigators (PI) of two projects funded by National Natural Science Foundation and one sub-project of 973 program. As co-principle investigators or leading researchers, he participated in more than 10 researches or projects. His publications included more than 100 academic papers including 34 SCI publications, two books, and 2 translations books.
